Worship resources for August 23, 2020

Welcome to this week's offering of worship resources. This is the 12th Sunday after Pentecost and the Old Testament reading brings us into the story of Moses and the beginning of the long journey to the Promised Land experienced by the nation of Israel.  Over the coming weeks we'll be reminded of some of the significant events that took place during that journey and be asked to 'ponder anew what the Almighty can do if with his love he befriend thee'. 

As has become our custom the attachments below contain the text of a liturgy that can be used in small groups. The 'rtf' version contains audio files that many computers can open when the icon beside the words for the hymn is 'double clicked'.  A printed version of the reflection along with an audio recording of that reflection are also part of the attached resource.  All these are offered with the hope that they will bring the user closer to God.
